It is always nice to receive an unexpected pick-me-up, whether it is a phone call or a card in the mail. That is part of the “mission” of the Angel Card Project.  http://www.countrychurchcrafts.com/angelcardproject2010   You can go to this web page and sign up to send Christmas cards to the elderly, sick and/or dying, military, or just those who have fallen on hard times and won’t be expecting anything for Christmas this year. Volunteers must sign up by Dec. 7th. You can also submit the name of someone you know who will be alone or lonely this year and would be cheered up by receiving a surprise Christmas card in the mail from an anonymous sender.

The list of names is compiled and sent by email to all the Angel Card “senders”. You can send out just one card to someone on the list, or you can send out as many as you would like. The deadline to submit a name is Dec. 6th. The compiled list of names will be emailed by about the 8th of December.

This is a wonderful way to give to someone who wouldn’t otherwise receive anything for Christmas this year. It is a simple gift that gives a lot. Try it…
