NBC dumps ‘under God’ from Pledge at U.S. Open

No political correctness

NBC dumps ‘under God’ from Pledge at U.S. Open. I totally missed this because I’m not really interested in watching the US Open. NBC showed two different times, a segment of children reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and each time, the statement after ‘one nation’  under God was omitted from the pledge. NBC got a flood of phone calls and complaints about it and later apologized. Is this the new way to try to brainwash the public into political correctness? If you hear something often enough…you start to believe it is true. Very sneaky indeed. I don’t believe for a minute it was an inadvertent mistake. The infamous “they” need to quit trying to force political correctness on the public!

I had no idea this happened! While I’m completing for freedom of religion and do not support forcing religion on others, but this is crazy. It’s the United States Pledge of Allegience! The words are there and to me, it’s more offensive to take them out. Wow!

I think it was a really stupid decision on NBC’s part…thanks for sharing your thoughts. I agree it was not a mistake.

That stuff angers me. I’m not threatened by the religion of others, so they shouldn’t be threatened by ours. Why is it wrong to mention God in the pledge as we have been doing for a long time, but it’s okay that some of the days of the week are named after Norse gods and the planets are named after Roman gods? That doesn’t offend me, so “under God” shouldn’t offend those who don’t believe in Him, either.
