I just spent the past half hour writing a new blog. I had spent time writing, rewording, editing and tweaking it until it was full of wit and sass! Just like every one of the blogs we all like to post. LOL The site automatically saves the draft as you work, so there is never any problem. Well, right after I put in the picture I wanted, and added some additional links at the bottom, my boss called with a question about the computer at work.
While I was answering the questions my laptop was sitting idle and decided to close the page. I tapped on the mouse to bring it back up to finish. I pushed save draft so I could then edit my post one last time. The site took me to a sign in page asking for my user name and password. When I reopened the site once more, my post had disappeared, all but the first two paragraphs. Where was my witty and sassy post? Once you work at it and tweak it, it is very difficult to go back and start over and come up with the exact same thing! ARGH! I am so disappointed! This hasn’t happened to me in quite a while and I am not enjoying it one tiny bit!

Do you write your posts directly on the blog? I write mine on Word, then cut/paste it into the blog. I have a habit of saving Word documents every paragraph to keep them safe. I also use Carbonite online backup, so it’s been a long time since I’ve lost anything permanently. I do all of this because I have had the same experience you just had and it is maddening! You can never recreate a story as well as the original!
