I can’t Read your Blog!

Once a week, I like to browse the fresh pressed or various categories of WordPress bloggers. I like reading what others have to say and like to subscribe to those I find interesting. That way, I’ve gotten to read what and how others write as well as get a few to subscribe to my blog. It’s a win-win situation! My complaint today is in how you set up your blog. If it has 3 columns of stuff and I can’t wade through it and find your post for today…I’m going to pass on your blog. If your blog has a dark color for a background and it is difficult to read the print on top of your dark color…I’m going to pass right by. And if the print is too small for my 61-year-old eyes wearing bifocals…I’m going to pass you by also. I realize we all have different tastes and love the different art work and backgrounds we can use on our blogs, but the end result is that we all enjoy having others read what we write. Perhaps we all need to take a new look at our blogs and make sure they are easy to navigate, that it is easy to find the post for the day, and that the color or font size doesn’t make it difficult for people to read. After all…we are the “I want it right now” society and if we have to work too hard at it…we will move on to something easier. Don’t let people pass by what you have to say just because it is difficult to decipher.

Happens all the time. I’m very active in the community and I’m not quick to pass on someone’s blog but after yesterday I will start. This blog I visited yesterday was impossible to navigate. They had two Home menus and i had trouble finding their latest posts. I eventually found it though and still commented. Someone once commented on my blog and said they had trouble finding the letters and I immediately changed how I originally had it set up. Thanks for writing this post. I can relate.

I was so choosy as well when it comes to my theme. I wanted it to be simple and readable. I hope it’s not one that just being passed by. I’m also open to suggestions to improve on it. Thanks!
