Man Who Used Butter Knife on Hernia Latest DIY Surgery Attempt – ABC News. Really? With a butter knife? Cut something off of your own body? Without knowing what you are doing? Really? What was he thinking! OMG! He was found naked on his patio with the butter knife sticking out of his abdomen and while waiting for the paramedics, he took out the knife and attempted to “cauterize” the wound with his cigarette. Gee…no wonder he got 72 hours involuntary psychological evaluation.

    Oh my goodness, that guy could have seriously hurt himself or get himself killed trying to self-operate on a hernia.
