What are you addicted to?

Mahjongg Tiles

I’ve mentioned before that I tend to have an obsessive/compulsive personality. It is sometimes easy for me to become obsessed or attracted to something and I will continue that thing for days or weeks or even months until I get tired of it, or the next thing comes along. It could be watching a marathon on tv, playing a video game, or even playing freecell. Yesterday I got an email from americanfamily.com. If you sign up, there are games you can play to earn points. I discovered 3D mahjongg. I have wasted the entire day playing this game and am still playing. You have 5 minutes to play. I can usually manage to get through the first 2 levels and into level 3 with a couple of seconds left to play. I keep trying to beat that time, and so far, all I am doing, is opening level 3 before I run out of play time. It is amazing how competitive you can become when you are striving to beat an old record, or striving to improve. I’m getting a little tired, and my knee is cramping up, but I am still playing. Is there anything in your life that is this compelling?

About estherlou

My husband and I married in 1970. I am the mother of 2 and grandmother to 5. I am a retired wedding cake decorator. I like watching Netflix on the Wii. I am catching up on all of the old tv shows I missed when they were on prime time! Right now though, I am reading and writing blogs, watching tv, making jewelry and rosaries, selling in my Etsy store and playing solitaire. I am home bound and add in my physical therapy exercises to my daily routine. I will blog about my progress or anything that catches my attention at that moment. See you around and thanks for stopping by!

I get a bit obsessive over video games, too, but I’m more into the console video games like on the Wii, rather than computer games. I must try over and over until I win. I keep saying one more time, one more time, until it is more like five more times. In some games I am successful, but not successful enough, so I keep playing to feel more satisfied with my accomplishments that day. I also used to play this racing game a bunch to beat my old records. Now I am satisfied with my scores and don’t play that game as much anymore.
