When I was a kid, 50+ years ago, I was a comic book freak. I bought each new edition when they came out. I loved Superman, Superboy, Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Batman, and the Justice League. I read them voraciously and lived in the world of heroes and good against evil. I loved every one of them! It got to the point tha t my dad would complain and grouse about my reading habits. He just knew I was reducing my IQ several points by reading such trash. I’m not sure when I started reading my comics, but I probably spent about 5 or 6 years enjoying myself. I don’t remember reading them as much when I got to junior high school. My reading habits haven’t changed all that much. My favorite reading is Star Trek novels, either the original characters, or the Next Generation and Voyager. I’ve watched every Star Trek movie they ever made more than once and really love the newest Star Trek movie! I loved all the Christopher Reeves Superman movies, and all the Batman movies except the 2nd one with the Penguin. It was entirely too dark for my taste. I even remember watching the Superman tv series in the 1960’s and the Wonder Woman series that came later. I’ve remembered over the years my enjoyment of those comics and wondered what ever happened to them all? I guess they got read and then thrown away. Just think, if I had saved all of my comics, from say 1960 and on, I’d be a rich woman today.

I like comics, too, but I’m not as much a superhero fan. Shame you didn’t keep those comics. You certainly would have been rich. I threw out a few things I regret, like I threw out “Treasure Island” for some reason, then I regretted it and bought a new copy, but the old copy had a much nicer cover. I miss it. I also threw out a bunch of “Calvin and Hobbes” comics. I’m so mad at myself. I want them back, but I don’t feel like re-buying them all.
