Why do We Blog?

Typing

I guess some of us want to share our deepest thoughts and insights with the world. It can’t hurt…maybe we can help someone. I suppose some of us just want to dump on someone without having to watch their reaction…kind of therapy in absentia. And sometimes we just want to have a good rant, be it about politics, or news, or an irritating co-worker, we just need to rant for a while. After we let it out, we gain some perspective, a lot of self-satisfaction and even sometimes, some emotional relief.  Perhaps today I want to write the great American novel. Most likely I just want to pass some time and share a tidbit about myself. It can be a little exhilarating to think someone might actually want to read something I’ve shared with the world on my blog. I might even become famous, or special, or just an ordinary blogger who wants to verbalize their thoughts instead of keeping them locked inside.

I always wanted to write, but never did much about it except write some poetry off an on over the years. When my daughter began writing her 1st novel, the interest welled up in me again and I started posting my   writing articles on helium http://www.helium.com/users/361453/show_articles    I got to read others writings and try to improve my way of expressing my thoughts. Later, I found out about http://wordpress.com and I was hooked. Since I still have a job, my blogging tends to burst out several at a time during my 3 days off. Sometimes I will use a Plinky idea, but when the idea comes from someone else instead of from within, it doesn’t always turn into the best example of good writing. I console myself with the fact that at least I am writing and getting in a lot of practice and having a lot of fun! If you are reading me, I thank you and I appreciate you. See you around.

I blog because I love to write .. and because my handwriting isn’t as neat and cute as it was “in my day.”

Great post .. keep writing 🙂

Blogging and writing can be so therapeutic, especially if we find it a little awkward to talk it out. And sometimes it’s just the fact of being able to share something – an idea or experience or funny joke – with the world that makes it so fun.
