Social Security Goes Bankrupt – HUMAN EVENTS. As someone who is 61 and close to social security age…this is very disturbing. They have said for years that the government has stolen from social security and spent it elsewhere…you know a “rob peter to pay paul” type of thing. Pretty common in my own finances. BUT! To be so irresponsible as to bankrupt the entire nations’ social security fund…that is just part of the list of things that are what is wrong with our government today. It is frightening to think that in a few years, when I need to draw social security, it might not be there, and I might not be able to pay my bills and the fault will not be my own. I’d hate to be a 65-year-old bag lady living under an underpass. Unthinkable.
